A New Year is fast approaching, much too fast for me I must say. 2012. An unbelievable number for someone born back in the good old days of the 19s!

So with the New Year comes another challenge. No! Not resolutions. I never manage to keep them past the 2nd January anyway. So a challenge it is.

2012 will be the year of Australian women writers.

For the full challenge: Australian Women Writers 2012

I am a Dabbler so I will source more than one genre and, for my Challenge level, I think I will go for the Franklin-fantastic (read 10 books, review four). I know this sounds optimistic but what is a challenge without a little optimism?

  1. Hi Helen
Thanks for participating in the AWW challenge.

There’s a link on the challenge page which comes to your site and says “Matilda is Missing” by Caroline Overington, but I can’t find the review. (It was entered in the top Mr Linky box and I want to put it in the 2nd one.) Have you reviewed it yet?

    • Sorry, Elizabeth. Time has got away from me and University has taken over. I am up to me neck in learning New Testament Greek.

Should I have put the title in the second box?

      • If the review is complete and posted, it should go in the second box as: Matilda is Missing (rev. by Helen) with a URL link. If it’s just on your challenge list and hasn’t been reviewed, then your own name (only) and link to your website/challenge page should go in the first box.

Good luck with learning New Testament Greek – and remember, academic books written by Australian women (however briefly reviewed) also count towards the challenge.

  2. Dear Helen,

I’m writing on behalf of the Australian Women Writers Challenge team and would like to thank you for your participation in the AWW challenge this year. I was also wondering if you’ve seen our feedback survey?

It’s very quick (10 questions, mostly check boxes, takes 2 minutes), and will provide useful feedback to Bookseller & Publisher.

Even if you didn’t reach your goal this year, your feedback is valued, and I hope you’ll join us again for AWW Challenge 2013.

    Kind regards,
